A well-preserved siderite specimen from the Damon and Pythias Mine, Money Creek Mining District, Washington, associated with quartz in distinctive flower-like groupings. The siderite forms as sharply defined, blocky crystals with a warm brown to amber tone and a vitreous to slightly pearly luster.
Clusters of clear to translucent quartz crystals occur as compact rosettes and sprays nestled between and against the siderite crystals, creating strong textural and visual contrast. The quartz “flower” habit is clearly expressed, with individual terminations visible and well separated rather than crowded or granular.
What makes this specimen particularly strong is the clarity of the association and condition: the siderite crystals retain crisp edges and faces, the quartz clusters are intact, and there is minimal damage or distracting matrix. The composition is balanced, allowing both minerals to be easily read without one overwhelming the other.
