These labradorite free forms are polished to emphasize the stone’s natural structure while preserving an organic, sculptural shape suitable for display. Each piece showcases labradorite’s defining optical effect—labradorescence—caused by internal crystal layering that refracts light and creates a shifting, metallic-like flash across the surface.
Labradorite is known for exhibiting a wide range of flash behaviors. As the stone is moved under light, different areas may activate, revealing layered bands, rolling color play, or concentrated flashes that appear to move within the material. The intensity, coverage, and direction of this effect can vary from subtle to highly vivid, and may appear differently depending on viewing angle and lighting conditions.
Natural features such as internal veils, surface texture, fractures, and zoning are common in labradorite and should be expected. These characteristics contribute to the depth, dimensionality, and individuality of each free form. No two pieces are identical.
